Why keyword research is so important and a Free keyword research tool

Keyword research is the first step you should take if you are trying to sell your own product or an affiliate product online because you need to find out what words people are searching for online. The more popular words are the ones that are searched for the most. A simple concept to understand.

By doing your keyword research, you can identify which niches are profitable and which ones are not. When you find a profitable niche, you can make your own product for that niche and then sell affiliate products on the back end to your list subscribers who bought your product. You can also just sell affiliate products, build a list through that and sell them more affiliate products in the future.

There are many keyword research tools that you can use. Some are free and some are not. I like to use a free tool by wordtracker. You can use this tool by visiting http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/gtrends/

Type in your main keyword or phrase and click on the hit me button. The keyword tool will then generate up to 100 related keywords and an estimate of their daily search volume.

On the left hand side you will see the daily search volume for each keyword, but also notice the bar graph on the right hand side. Click on the bar graph it will reveal the google competition and actual visitors from #1 in google per day. This is important information to have to see if a niche is profitable and also which keywords to target. You can have a profitable niche, but if you target the wrong keywords then you will have a more difficult time ranking high in the search engines. The more competitive a keyword is, the harder it will be rank high in the search engine rankings to generate free traffic to your site.

This tool will also recommend what the number should be for competition and actual visitors. It will give a green check mark for good to go and a red x for look for another keyword.

I have found this tool to be very helpful in my market and keyword research. You can find this free keyword research tool at:
